Ewloe is a small town, contiguous with Hawarden and Buckley and near to Queensferry and Shotton. Situated close to the Flintshire/Cheshire sector of the Wales-England border, Ewloe has a population of 5,400 and forms part of Deeside. Its most notable landmark is Ewloe Castle, a motte and bailey castle built around 1257.
