Discover the sweeping waterfront of Swansea Bay leading to Mumbles and onto the beautiful Gower Peninsula.
The Gower Peninsula was designated the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1956 and it's still one of the nation's favourites; sandy beaches and a beautiful and ecologically diverse environment. Find some of the best waves for surfing at Llangennith and Rhossili Bay. Rhossili Bay has been consistently voted one of the top ten beaches in Britain.
The Gower is deservedly popular with walkers, with stunning sections of the Wales Coast Path, for sea views, woodlands and countryside to explore along the way.
You may find caves, forts, medieval castles, churches, a lighthouse and 19th Century parks, too. There are over 1200 archaeological sites in the AONB, many of them of national importance.
