A quaint seaside town on the estuary of the River Taf, being on the coast of Carmarthenshire. Laugharne’s spectacular poetical landscape helped inspire ‘Under the Milk’ by Dylan Thomas.

Laugharne is the resting place for Dylan Thomas, the world’s best-known English-language poet from Wales. A town which has been visited by many famous faces; Jimmy Carter, Mick Jagger, Richard Burton and Bill Clinton from Dylan Thomas’s fame.

The film “The Edge of Love” has been filmed with actresses Kiera Knightly and Sienna Miller around the countryside of Laugharne.

Laugharne a historic town in Welsh History, being one of the oldest self-governing towns in Britain, with the Laugharne charter dating back possibly to before 1290.

The town was once named Abercorran before the civil war. The romantic picturesque Castle towers over the surrounding landscape, being of high historic significance to the Welsh Coastline and Britain’s History.

A place of heritage and culture for artists, writers, poets and painters. A beautiful haven for walkers and wildlife lovers. Visit Dylan Thomas’s home and see the breath-taking views from his Boathouse.

Join in the Common Walk, a tradition held every three years of walking around the boundaries of the town. The walk will take you over streams, fields, hedges and ditches being 8-9 hours long, which goes back to Pagan times, before the Welsh Language arrived from Brittany.

Come to Laugharne’s weekend arts festival held in April every year. Stroll along Laugharne sands tranquil beach.
