The National Library of Wales - A spectacular wedding venue in one of Wales' most iconic buildings that stands proudly above the the coastal town of Aberystwyth, Mid Wales. This impressive venue, with its grand entrance hall, staircase, the Council Chamber with its panelling and breath-taking views over the town and bay offers a spectacular backdrop to one of the most important days of your life.

The National Library of Wales is one of the great libraries of the world. Built in the early part of the 20th century the Library offers splendid views overlooking Aberystwyth, the castle and Cardigan Bay. 

The Council Chamber

The Council Chamber, with its oak panelled walls, art nouveau features, and unrivalled views is licenced for civil marriages and partnerships and for ceremonies for the renewal of vows. It can accommodate up to 60 guests and can be set out according to your wishes.

The President's Room

The President’s Room is ideal for a more intimate ceremony and can accommodate up to 30 guests.

After your ceremony, your guests can enjoy a champagne reception while you greet them for the first time as a married couple. This elegant building also offers many spaces for special photographs.

The Library’s beautiful grounds and its views are the perfect backdrop for more photographs to be treasured, of your unforgettable day. 

As the Library is a public building, please note that usual services continue to operate on wedding days.  It is the responsibility of the couple to arrange the ceremony particulars and the registrar. You can contact the superintendent registrar on 01970 633580.
