Welcome to Cantref Riding Centre - We are fortunate to be 'The Only Riding on the Brecon Beacons' so this truly is a unique experience! You are ensured a warm welcome from everyone at Cantref which has been run by the same family for over 40 years.

We offer riding for all abilities. The 20 minute ride (£14.75) is suitable for the beginner rider and for children aged 4 upwards. The ride takes place in the riding school with a member of Cantref staff.

The Cantref Red Kite Hour Ride (£24.75) is suitable for beginner and novice riders aged 6 years and over. The ride takes place around the farm on bridleways with minimal roadwork. There are some spectacular views of the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. The ride remains at a walk pace and is the ideal ride for families with younger children.

The Brecon Beacons Explorer ride (£41.25) is approx. 2.5 hours long taking you up onto the Brecon Beacons. Please note that children must be 11 years. The ride is suitable for all abilities from beginners to experienced rider with there being opportunities to canter for the more experienced riders, conditions permitting.

The Welsh Pony Trails (£68.50) takes you into the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park where you will see some of the most stunning landscapes in Wales. You will stop for lunch in the one of the valleys of the Brecon Beacon so please make sure you bring a packed lunch along with you. Packed lunches are carried in the saddlebags and can be purchased from our onsite cafe. Please note that children must be 11 years and over.
The ride is suitable for all abilities and there are opportunities to canter for the more experienced rider, conditions permitting.

Own a Pony Days (£59.95) - The perfect present for pony mad children. A full day of activities with our faithful friends. Children will groom and tack up their ponies before having a lesson in our outdoor arena. After lunch they will go on an hours ride out around the farm park before returning learn more about their ponies. Lunch is included and the children will go home with a certificate and rosette to remember their day.

B.S. hats are provided free of charge and must be worn at all times. Basic instruction is given before every ride. Please wear suitable clothing - long trousers, strong shoes, waterproof jacket and sun cream. Every effort is made to ensure all riders have an enjoyable ride.
Please note that there is a weight restriction of 16 stone.

All rides are escorted by experienced and friendly guides who hold recognised qualifications and First Aid Certificates.

Please note that children must be 4 years and over to ride at Cantref.
