About
Come and enjoy a prehistoric day out at Castell Henllys and immerse yourself in Britain’s only Iron Age village which has been reconstructed on the exact location where roundhouses would have stood over 2000 years ago.
Explore our roundhouses where you will meet the friendly Iron Age villagers as they share their knowledge about prehistoric life and living with the land through talks and demonstrations of ancient skills and craft. Our villagers represent members of the Demetae tribe who would have lived in this corner of Wales before, during and after the Roman Invasion.
Castell Henllys is also home to a peaceful woodland where you can spot a variety of wildlife, a children’s play area, a barefoot trail, and prehistoric breeds of livestock as well as a riverside café where you can relax after your prehistoric adventure.
Throughout the year we hold a variety of events and workshops that educate, inspire and celebrate the ancient way of life. Please visit our website for more details about our upcoming events and how to book.
The Iron Age people enjoyed the company of hounds. Your dog will be more than welcome to share in your exploration as long as they are on a lead.
This distinctive heritage site is owned and managed by Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
