Coral Welsh Grand National 2024

Event Overview: The Coral Welsh Grand National is the highlight of the year at Chepstow Racecourse, drawing thousands of visitors and showcasing some of the finest long-distance chasers in the sport. This historic race, established in 1949, has grown into a major event in the National Hunt calendar, thanks to the support of Coral.

Historic Highlights: The race has a rich history, with notable winners such as David Nicholson, who achieved three consecutive victories from 1959 to 1961. More recently, Native River won in 2016 and went on to claim the Magners Gold Cup in 2018. In 2019, Potters Corner became the first Welsh-trained horse to win since 1973, delighting local fans. Last year's winner, Nassalam, trained by Gary Moore and ridden by Caoilin Quinn, added another exciting chapter to the race's storied past.

Family-Friendly Atmosphere: The Coral Welsh Grand National is a fantastic day out for families. Children 17 and under can attend for free when accompanied by an adult, making it an affordable and enjoyable experience for all. The festive atmosphere, combined with the excitement of the race, ensures a memorable day for everyone.

Booking Information: This year, all booking and fulfillment fees for general admission have been removed, so the price you see is the price you pay. Hospitality packages can be purchased over the phone or through the official hospitality partner, Seat Unique. This makes planning your day at the races straightforward and hassle-free.

If it rains at any point during the day, ticket holders can claim a free Grandstand ticket for selected fixtures in 2025. The racecourse also offers a variety of food vendors, from wood-fired pizzas to a prosecco bar, ensuring there's something for everyone.
