Ffos Las Racecourse is a sports, events and conferencing venue, and is a fantastic location for corporate events, weddings, functions, concerts and other occasions.
The venue set in 600 acres of beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside with fantastic scenic views across the Garden of Wales.
From being the largest open cast mine in Europe the transformation has been exceptional. The venue now boasts, conservation areas, solar farms, Beautiful lakes, bridle ways and The Diamond Jubilee tree plantation along with the racecourse.
Ffos Las Racecourse opened in 2009 and brought back top class racing to West Wales for the first time since 1937. The track provides a racing surface to rival any course, and has the benefit of state of the art drainage and irrigation it has been created to provide a superb racing surface and uninterrupted viewing opportunities of the track.
The 600 acre setting is magnificent. Surrounded by rolling hills and countryside it has views down the Gwendraeth Valley to Carmarthen Bay. It is almost impossible to believe that Ffos Las was the former site of the largest open cast coalmine in Europe.
The track provides a racing surface to rival any course in the world. It is 60m wide, has the benefit of miles of drainage and has been created level to provide a superb track to race on and a great viewing track for the racegoer.

With a choice of either the Bridles Restaurant, offering a 3 course sit down meal with great views of the racecourse, or the Paddock Marquee providing amazing views of the Parade Ring and Winners
Ffos Las have hospitality boxes with private balconies that provide excellent views of the course or Parade Ring and Winners Enclosure. They also feature closed-circuit television, a private bar facility and easy access to Tote betting facilities.
The surrounding countryside of the Gwendraeth Valley, provides a stunning backdrop of natural beauty. The intervals between races provide just the right time for socialising. Unlike many other major sports, the pleasant mix of food, drink and conversation does not mean missing the action and the raceday experience is perfect for establishing and developing rewarding friendships.
