About
Welcome to the Magic of Life Butterfly Centre, located in the stunning Rheidol Valley - a must-visit attraction for all nature lovers!
As soon as you step inside, you'll be captivated by our collection of fascinating insects, including beetles, spiders, and stick insects, as well as our stunning marine fish tank. But the real highlight is our butterfly section, where you'll be surrounded by a diverse array of species from all over the tropics.
What sets us apart is the opportunity to feed and even hold the butterflies, making for an unforgettable experience. And don't worry about hygiene - we have a convenient hand washing facility by the exit door and a clean, accessible toilet.
But that's not all - come and see some of the largest and most colourful butterflies in the world! We exhibit up to 70 different species throughout the season, with many pupae farmed sustainably in the tropics. We also rear giant caterpillars and display many rare and exotic plants that thrive in our lush tropical conditions.
Our reception room is home to many different types of insects, including praying mantids, giant stick insects, and beautiful moths. We also have two coral reef tanks and tropical fish for you to admire.
In our wildlife garden, we've planted many varieties of plants specifically for butterflies, and have recorded over 26 species of native butterflies in the area. The day out provides a hands-on learning experience for all ages.
And when you're done exploring, make sure to take a walk around the beautiful Rheidol Valley, with its waterfalls, woodlands, and scenic walks. Ample parking is available in the neighbouring Statkraft Visitor Centre, and our attraction is wheelchair and pushchair-friendly. Plus, dogs are welcome too!
Please note, the Statkraft Visitor Centre is currently closed until further notice, so no refreshments are available on-site. But with so much to see and do at the Magic of Life Butterfly Centre, we're confident you won't want to leave!
