About
Experience a fun and educational dolphin spotting boat trip for all ages that has been sailing from New Quay in West Wales for over 65 years. Our boats sail exclusively within the Cardigan Bay Special Area of Conservation, home to hundreds of bottlenose dolphins and Atlantic grey seals, providing an unrivaled experience from start to finish.
Our skippers are all 'WISE' qualified, ensuring that your boat trip adheres to the marine code of conduct. As a 'Sea Watch Foundation's Recommended Boat Operator,' you can trust us to give you a memorable experience while respecting the conservation code and the dolphins' natural habitat.
Our new Dreamcatcher boat specially designed for dolphin spotting. It only carries twelve passengers, making it best to book in advance to ensure availability. It offers a unique all-round viewing experience as there is no wheelhouse at the front or the back, allowing you to look over the side of the boat and get a close encounter with the dolphins.
Our dolphin spotting boat trips are the perfect way to optimize your chances of seeing the bottlenose dolphins up close and personal, in their natural environment. We respect the conservation code, so your enjoyment will not be at the expense of the dolphins.
During the trip, you'll learn about the lives of the bottlenose dolphins and other marine wildlife that thrive within the Special Area of Conservation. Our experienced crew and skipper will guide you to passing seal haul-out areas, an auk colony, and sites of interest. The longer trips will take you further down the coast to the peninsular of Ynys Lochtyn, near the village of Llangrannog, one of the best places to look for dolphins.
We are the original multi-passenger boat company on the west coast of Wales, offering a less intrusive method of watching dolphins by reducing the number of boats. We let the dolphins approach us, and they often come unbelievably close to the boat, providing an unforgettable experience. Although we cannot promise dolphins on every trip, their frequent socializing and feeding activities are visible above the water, creating spectacular displays.
By paying for your seat, you're making the trip possible for a volunteer researcher to monitor the wildlife from the sea rather than from land. We're associated with the Sea Watch Foundation, which monitors the bottlenose dolphins on behalf of the Welsh government and relies solely on donations for their valuable scientific work.
Besides dolphins, there's a possibility of spotting the much less obvious harbour porpoise, and if you keep your eyes on the skies throughout the trip, you may also spot gannets, shearwaters, oystercatchers, cormorants, shags, and even rare choughs if you're 'eagle-eyed.' Join us and enjoy an unrivaled experience from start to finish. Hop on board for a day you won't forget. Book your trip now!
