About

Welcome to Capel Cartref, our homely chapel with a 'step free entrance'. Our spotlessly clean holiday accommodation welcomes families with young children, discerning groups, people who are wheelchair users, plus it is pet friendly.

Capel Cartref is a large 5 bedroom holiday let with a secure garden and fast WIFI.  Our home accommodates people who love to explore the wonders of both South Wales and Mid Wales. The former chapel (Originally called Capel Newydd, meaning New Chapel), turned holiday home is situated in the heart of the valley next to a wide meandering River Twrch.

The exterior offers the comfort of a veranda and balcony that overlooks the river, which plays host to a variety of wildlife . The river views provide the perfect setting for heron, brown trout, dippers and the occasional kingfisher and otter. The garden to the holiday home is enclosed, ensuring a safe space for children and dogs.

Entrance through the front double doors of our holiday accommodation is wheelchair accessible and leads you through the vestibule into the large lounge which boats its high vaulted ceiling.  Also, on this level are 2 double bedrooms, a large kitchen/diner, a wet room plus a store room; all of the ground floor rooms have wider doorways, allowing for wheelchair access. The lounge has satellite TV and Blu Ray DVD Player, Amazon Fire Stick plus lots of space.

Capel Cartref has been renovated to a 5 Bedroom house of high standard. It is currently graded as 4 star holiday let with www.visitwales.com and has 157 Reviews with www.tripadvisor.com, most of which are 5 star and some 4 star. Advertising on AirB&B has brought us 112 x 5 Star Reviews and 1 x 4 Star Review.  On Google we have 16 x 5 star reviews.

The 1st floor is accessed via a staircase which leads to a gallery landing - a place to sit in peace. The 1st floor also includes 1 double bedroom, 1 twin room, 1 main bathroom, 1 main bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower room, one private balcony (leading off main bedroom) which overlooks River Twrch.

Capel Cartref is situated on the border of Powys, and Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacon National Park).
Within the surrounding area are beautiful scenic walks that can be accessed without a car. Crossing the river at the rear of the chapel and heading up the steps eventually leads you to farm land with accessible roads that lead to a beautiful forest, offering scenic views of the valley.

There is very fast WIFI at the chapel and leaflets available with local places to visit and there are places to eat and drink within a short 15 minute drive, or if you prefer to eat locally, there is The Crown Inn 43 Heol Twrch Cwmtwrch Isaf SA92TD, Cwm-twrch which is situated approximately 500 yards from Capel Cartref.
