Yr Hen Stablau East terrace

About

Yr Hen Stablau is a recently renovated 1840s stables set in luxuriant gardens on a wooded hillside overlooking the Dyfi Valley one mile from Machynlleth and Wales Coast Path. This peaceful, secluded and picturesque setting makes Yr Hen Stablau ideal if you want to relax, paint, read or write. It is also an excellent base for a more active holiday: walking, cycling, golf, swimming, birdwatching are all available nearby.

The cottage has a strong green ethos, with solar-heated water, full insulation, organic bedlinen and and many other eco-elements. It sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms. There is wheelchair access to the whole ground floor including double or twin bedroom and shower room with toilet. Machynlleth town 1 mile. Coast 8 miles. Pets welcome.

The holiday cottage sits in the luxuriant gardens of Pantlludw between a mountain stream and banks of rhododendron and azalea. Yr Hen Stablau was originally working stables with stalls for four horses. These would have been used either for farming on the Pantlludw and Esgair estate (in nearby Pantperthog) or for carriages.

Freeview TV; free Wifi Available; electric vehicle charging at cost according to use.

Discover MId Wales Dark Skies
There is a planoscope, binoculars and information on astronomy in the cottage and on a clear night there is a good view of the stars – Snowdonia National Park is recognised as a Dark Skies area.

To the south of the cottage, there is a new astro-tourism trail linking Dark Sky Discovery sites across the Cambrian Mountains.
