About
From Plas Tan y Bwlch we have easy access by minibus to some very good estuaries, salt marshes, reed beds, muddy harbours, sea-watch points and impressive inland lakes in and around Snowdonia National Park – and all set against the dramatic scenery of the mountains of Eryri. The course will be an excellent opportunity for you to familiarise yourself with the area and some of its best birdwatching spots while learning more about how birds adapt and cope with the vagaries of winter. We will also discuss the changing fortunes of certain species – how, when and why some species have declined, while others have moved into the area in recent times, e.g. red kite, white egret and osprey. We will certainly find a good selection of ducks, geese, wild swans, grebes, divers, waders and birds of prey and with a good chance of turning up the unexpected. Good sightings will always be the priority though, rather than rushing about twitching?! In such a diverse area as ours, variety will be the name of the game.
