Wales is the first country in the world to have a formal trail the whole way around its coast. The Wales Coast Path (which is 870 miles long) joins up with Offa’s Dyke Path to provide a 1,030 mile trail around the Welsh border.
Haverfordwest
Skomer Island National Nature Reserve - absolutely teeming with wildlife. On calm days the seas around Skomer are so glisteningly translucent that it is possible to see deep into the turquoise water.
Gwynedd
The Dolmelynllyn estate is about 5 miles north of Dolgellau. To explore the estate, which includes the Coed Ganllwd Nature Reserve. This ancient woodland extends up the hill and valley side above the famous Rhaeadr Ddu (Black Falls).
Llanrhystud
6th section of the Ceredigion Coastal Path Llanrhystud to Aberystwyth
Total Distance 17km (10.6 miles) Grade - moderate/hard
Despite being challenging this section of Heritage Coast is dramatic, lonely and extremely worthwhile.

A spectacular 15 mile walk passing by Lake Vyrnwy, and leading to Britain's oldest Romanesque shrine at the ancient church of Pennant Melangell.
Abergavenny is the traditional gateway to South Wales and to the Brecon Beacons National Park. The old market town is surrounded by beautiful border countryside and home to the best food festival in the UK.
A large expanse of beach with vast areas of sand from mid-tide level. The beach offers exceptional views of the Llyn Peninsula and Llanddwyn Island.
Ponterwyd, Aberystwyth
Bwlch Nant yr Arian is famous for feeding red kites daily. Range of waymarked walking, mountain biking, running and horse-riding trails and a mountain bike skills park. Café, shop and play area.
New Quay - Aberaeron
New Quay to Aberaeron is a popular section of the Wales Coast Path that presents no major challenges. The walk is a distance 10.5km (6.5miles)
Tenby
Carew Castle rich history spans over 2,000 years and tells of knights of the realm, kingmakers and Civil War devastation.
The site also incorporates the only restored Tidal Mill in Wales, an 11th century Celtic cross and a Medieval bridge.
Llanrhidian
The 14th Century Weobley Castle is perched on the Gower's wild north coast. It is not quite what it seems; despite its name, it served more as a fortified manor house than a serious military stronghold.
Powys
A broadleaved woodland that sits alongside the River Ithon. Teeming with birds and flowers, this is a small nature reserve with a lot of wildlife.

Harlech is a historic town on the Snowdonia coast which has fantastic beaches, Royal St David's - one of Wales' finest golf courses and Harlech Castle which a World heritage site.
