About

Mwldan is an independent Arts Centre and cinema based in the centre of Cardigan on the Mid Wales coast. Wales' only truly Independent multiplex, it welcomes over 300,000 people a year through its doors.

The venue presents a multi-artform live programme and screens around 3000 films and live broadcasts annually. A major producing venue, Mwldan is behind collaborations such as Catrin Finch and Seckou Keita, and also produces the Cardigan Castle Summer Events in partnership with Cardigan Castle.

In 2017 Mwldan started the record label bendigedig in partnership with ARC music productions, operating a 360-degree model of artist management, agenting, producing, releasing, PR and marketing.

Mwldan Cinema

Mwldan have one of best film programmes in Wales, offering over 3,000 screenings a year on its three fully digital screens including both mainstream and specialist film releases, 3D screenings and live satellite broadcast from from all over the globe. Having the flexibility of three cinema screens, Mwldan can offer a wider selection of films and special screenings.

Mawldan Theatre

Mwldan presents a year-round diverse and eclectic professional programme of national and international artistic activity across a wide range of artforms, including drama, music, dance, film, literature, opera, visual and applied arts.

Mwldan offer a superb range of modern comfortable facilities suitable for hire by organisers of conferences, meetings, classes and performances, plus a bar.

Mwldan is situated in the centre of Cardigan - turn left at the north end of the High Street/Pendre. There is ample parking behind the theatre for cars and coaches and parking is free after 6pm.

* The building will be open with an in-person Box Office between 12 noon and 8pm Tuesday - Sunday (and on Mondays during school holidays and public holidays).

We will be open to the public who wish to use our bar without tickets to any event (opening times above). We will be serving drinks and snacks and expanding our food offering in the coming months.
