About

Pistyll Rhiwargor at the northern end of Lake Vyrnwy within the RSPB Lake Vyrnwy Reserve is one of the highest waterfalls in Wales with a drop of 100 metres. The falls are a short 20-30 minute walk signposted from the free car park and picnic site less than a mile of the B4393.  They are fed by Afon Eiddew in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park and its tributaries feed from the Berwyn Mountains above LLyn Tegid (Bala Lake).

The falls are known locally as Pistyll Rhyd-y-meincau and walk from the car park to the falls is relatively easy over slightly undulating ground alongside a stream and through some trees.  The path is very accessible with gravelled paths that make it very easy to get with the cascading waterfalls opening up in front of you.

The surrounding fields are very muddy, so appropriate footwear is advised, and there is actually a sign stating this in the car park.
