Quabbs Cabin Knighton

About

Quabbs Cabin, situated on a secluded sheep farm near Knighton, is the passion project of owners Paul and Steph MacDonald - a skilled builder and a geography teacher with a shared love for nature, conservation, and farm diversification. The cabin has been carefully designed with eco-conscious travellers in mind, using repurposed materials and incorporating off-grid elements to create a rustic yet luxurious escape. Escape to Quabbs Meadow for a luxury holiday with the cosiness and quirkiness of a traditional log cabin.

The Ultimate Romantic and Secluded Escape in the Welsh Hills

Hidden away in the rolling hills of Mid Wales, Quabbs Cabin (sleeping 2 guests) offers a one-of-a-kind, off-grid escape for couples seeking tranquility, seclusion, and a touch of rustic luxury. Recently featured in The Guardian, this handcrafted retreat blends sustainability with comfort, offering an immersive experience in nature with breathtaking views over Knighton and Offa’s Dyke.

A Cosy Hideaway, Built with Love
Quabbs Cabin is no ordinary stay. Lovingly built by an expert craftsman using locally sourced and reclaimed materials, every detail has been carefully considered. Guests can sink into a handmade bed overlooking the meadow, soak in a deep copper bath, or stargaze from the private wraparound porch. With a fully equipped kitchen, a wood-fired hot tub, and a newly added infrared Sauna Shack with a cold-water rainfall shower, this is a place to truly switch off and unwind.

Dark Skies & Starry Nights
With minimal light pollution, Quabbs Cabin is an idyllic destination for stargazers. Guests can enjoy a curated stargazing kit complete with telescopes, red-light torches, and cozy star-themed blankets for a magical night under the vast Welsh skies.

Sustainable and Dog-Friendly
Quabbs Cabin is committed to sustainability, offering an eco-conscious retreat with repurposed materials and off-grid touches. Plus, four-legged friends are welcome, with miles of scenic walking trails starting right from the doorstep.

An Invitation to Discover
Located just a short drive from charming market towns, historic castles, and stunning National Trust properties, Quabbs Cabin is an ideal base for exploring the heart of the Welsh borders - if guests can bear to tear themselves away.
