About
The Granary Corris is a recently renovated 2 bedroom open plan annexe situated on the ground floor of our home on the southern tip of the Snowdonia National Park.
Located just minutes from the Dyfi Forest and on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, The Granary Corris is the perfect place to explore and enjoy all that the area has to offer. This 2 bedroom open plan annexe is situated on the ground floor of The Granary.
Whether walking cycling running or just relaxing is your thing The Granary is in the ideal spot. We are lucky enough to have beautiful beaches, mountains and forests just minutes away!
Accommodation
*Please note this is our home not a hotel. Due to day to day living we are not at all suitable for those with pet allergies or those that need step free access.
Corris is like a giant hug and we all need one of those after the last year or so!! You immediately feel welcome here in the village and we believe that continues into The Granary. We have kept things simple but comfortable. Plenty of space for you, your friends and your family (be they the 2 or 4 legged version!) and all the facilities you could need.
The main living space can be accessed through one of two entrances depending on whether you've been to the village shop or whether you come back in wet and muddy!
Our internal bike storage comes straight in from an outside wash down area and having cleaned your bike off using the provided rags, you can head straight to the shower room where we provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There are separate dark towels to remove your make up with!
With a large table and bench seating and a fully integrated kitchen, meal prep and dinner can be enjoyed in comfort. You may decide to grab a meal from the pub just 50yds down the road or one of the other eateries detailed in our AirBnB guidebook.
The Granary will be set with a starter pack of loo rolls (in the bathroom cupboard), kitchen roll, salt, pepper, oils and herbs/spices. There will be a towel set for each guest. Please do not remove these from the house and if visiting the beach or rivers take your own towels or ask us for a couple of other towels to use.
We do not provide Electric vehicle charging and due to insurance restrictions can not allow a 3 pin plug in. If required there is a charging point at the Corris Craft Centre just a 2-minute drive away (subject to availability)
Please note we can take no responsibility for items lost or stolen during your stay. We recommend keeping bikes locked in the house when not in use and not left at the front of the house.
Please ensure you have the relevant travel insurances in place for your items and your holiday in case of illness or loss.
Guest access
You can enjoy and open plan living space with large oak table and bench seating, 2 sofas and a bay window seat.
The kitchen is just off the living area so you can always be involved with your friends and family.
Outside we have a patio area with a bench and hammock seat (removed in Autumn/Winter). This space may be used by Anya and/or Anthony but only when you are out and away from the house (usually to water the plants or use the hose) This space can be accessed from outside and so we would never need to enter the house. Just opposite the house, there is a communal slate seating area and picnic benches.
Due to being in the Dyfi Biosphere and a want to use renewable and sustainable energy we have installed an air source heat pump instead of using an oil-based system details of which are in the welcome pack.
Other things to note
Corris is a beautiful little village and the residents all look out for each other and are there to help with suggestions for walks and amenities.
We will try our utmost to help you with bookings, queries or suggestions but cannot be held responsible for any external bookings, trips or excursions you take and cannot always guarantee that we are contactable.
The weather is very changeable in Corris and this can sometimes effect TV, internet and mobile signal. There is a battery powered lamp provided on the book shelf “just in case” !
The local town of Machynlleth has all the take aways you would expect along with a COOP, Spar, chemist, delis, bakeries and newsagents.
Please ensure you don't leave any litter around, if smoking use the metal flowerpot on the patio area and if you have a dog with you please pick up use the poo bin opposite the house. There are poo bags up on the shelf in the utility hallway in case your forget to bring some or run out.
There is a very small external seating area at the pub and so there maybe sometimes that you could hear laughter or chatter.
