About
The Pembrokeshire village of Kilgetty is located near the crossing of the A477 road from St Clears to Pembroke Dock and the A478 Tenby to Cardigan road - 2 miles north of Saundersfoot and 5 miles from Tenby. It grew up around the railway when it opened in 1866 and today it has a population of over 2,000.
Just to the north of Kilgetty along the A478 is Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo which started as a humble farm park but has grown over the years to become an award-winning children's adventure park with a zoo, vintage funfair and indoor and outdoor adventure play as well as the farm attractions. Avondale Glass Blowing Studio in Kilgetty allows visitors to watch the glass blowers at work. Originally set up in 1976 by Vicenzo Speranza, who worked in the great glass houses of Italy from the age of 10 as well as in Germany, Switzerland, France, Sweden and Malta before settling in the UK, the business has since been handed down to his son and then to his grandson.
Kilgetty has a railway station on the Carmarthen/Whitland to Tenby and Pembroke Dock line.
