About

The Cambrian Coast Line provides some of the most stunningly beautiful rail journeys anywhere in the UK. Hugging the coastline, the line offers spectacular views and interesting places to see.

Your journey starts inland from Machynlleth, the 'ancient capital' of Wales, past Monty and Glesni's nest (The Dyfi Ospreys) at Dyfi Junction and onwards to the pictuersque seaside village of Aberdovey. If travelling the Great Little Trains of Wales is your pastime, Tywyn will be your stop for the Talyllyn Railway, with another stop at Fairbourne for the Fairbourne Railway.

Cross Barmouth Bridge over the Mawddach Estuary to Barmouth with its long sandy beach and picturesqe harbour. Approaching Harlech station you just cannot miss Harlech Castle with its commanding presence.

Catch a glimpse of the unique village of Portmeirion, set on it's own private peninsula in Southern Snowdonia. Visit Porthmadog, home of the Blaenau Ffestiniog Railway - a bustling town, full of individual shops and places to eat.

Onwards to the coastal town of Criccieth until you reach the end of the line at Pwllheli, the main market town of the Llyn Peninsula.
