About
Tal-y-llyn Lake (Also known as Llyn Mwyngil) is a 220 acre ribbon lake situated north-east of Tywyn and north of Machynlleth at the foot of Cadair Idris in Southern Snowdonia. The River Dysynni flows from the lake through the village of Abergynolwyn to the sea north of Tywyn on the Mid Wales coast near Tonfanau.
The nearby Talyllyn Railway is a historic narrow-gauge steam railway running from the seaside town of Tywyn to wooded pathways of Abergynolwyn and Nant Gwernol.
