Recreating Two Vintage Periods - Great Western & Austrian Trains

Two trains in operation over this weekend, recreating historic scenes and with plenty of photo opportunities:

W&LLR 1920s Great Western Heritage Train – Original 1902 built locomotive ‘The Earl’ operating a mixed train typical of our line pre-preservation. Comprising our replica ‘Pickering’ carriages, goods wagons and brake van (opportunities to see the train being shunted at Llanfair and Welshpool).

1930s Austrian Vintage Train – Recently overhauled 699.01 ‘Sir Drefaldwyn’ hauling a rake of our traditional Austrian 4-wheeler balcony carriages acquired in the early years of preservation from the Zilleralbahn and Satzkammergut Lokalbahn.
