About

The World renowned Welsh passion for singing culture combined with the finest of international traditions, the Brecon Choir Festival is where the  power of choral music brings people together to create new friendships and lifelong memories. The festival was set up in 2022 with the aim of bringing the best of the Welsh choral tradition together with the most exciting emerging choral talent in the UK and internationally.

The fourth Brecon Choir Festival will take place from 17th - 20th July, 2025, showcasing a range of choirs, musical genres and young talent. The programme will include a number of free events and the wonderful Walking Singing Tours ,...and of course Afterglows

At the festival you will experience newly commissioned music from first class composers and fascinating discussion from leading academics, and explore the incredible natural landscape surrounding Brecon which has inspired creatives for centuries. The festival will start with a Festival Chorus and ends with a "Cymanfu Ganu", a special Welsh tradition of communal hymn singing in both English and Welsh.

You will have the opportunity to take part in the many free communal events including the Festival Hike (followed by 'Welsh Cakes and a Cuppa') the Festival Choir Trail in locations around Brecon and finally our famous Afterglows where you can sing the night away in true Welsh style.

The festival is for both long-time choral aficionado as much as the ‘choral curious’ individual who may never have attended similar events before.
