Looking for somewhere to rest your walking boots? All our hotels, guesthouses, self-catering, glamping sites (and more) welcome walkers, but some have gone the extra mile and attained official ‘Walkers Welcome’ accreditation.

If you’re unfamiliar with this part of the world, Powys is the largest county in Wales, encompassing a landscape of valleys and mountains, including most of Brecon Beacons National Park.

Brecon Beacons National Park lies on the border between Mid Wales and South Wales & covers an area of 520 square miles. This area includes the Fforest Fawr UNESCO Global Geopark and is an International Dark Sky Reserve.

Walk by day and star gaze by night. Or shop by day. Crickhowell, previous winner of the Best British High Street award), is a Georgian town on the edge of the Brecon Beacons.

The Bannau Brycheiniog Visitor Centre provides information and interpretation for visitors to the area. There is a cafe on site, picnic area and craft and gift shop. The centre is one of the best places in the National Park to experience Dark Skies.
