Food and Drink
Wales is all about local produce, wild and rustic unfussy goodness, and Mid Wales is the epicentre - it's where the food comes from.
You'll find lots of artisan producers but not too many high street food chains. Visit award-winning gin distilleries such as: In the Welsh Wind, Cardigan; Dyfi Distillery, near Machynlleth, as well as Kerry Vale Vineyard, near Newtown.
Most towns have local markets where you can find amazing Welsh cheeses, local butchers, seafood, chocolatiers, and buy from the makers and producers.
Stay, enjoy and indulge in unique, award-winning hotels, restaurants and eateries.
Mid Wales has some fabulous food and drink producers, supplying our restaurants, pubs, bars, inns and café’s with lots of lovely local produce for you to enjoy. Whilst you’re here, remember to ask the people you meet about local stories passed down between the generations - perhaps over a drop of gin, or award-winning ale?
Many of our attractions in Mid Wales also have café’s or tearooms on-site, so you can really make a day of it.
