Powys
There are many ways up and down the Sugar Loaf. This walk starts on the west of this striking and distinctly shaped hill in the small village of Llangenny (240180), just to the east of the bridge over the Grwyne Fawr.
Aberystwyth
Constitution Hill rises dramatically 430 feet from the north end of Aberystwyth promenade. The views from the top are spectacular and on a clear day you can see Snowdon. Take the cliff railway to the summit or follow the coast path.
Southern Snowdonia
There are three recommended walking routes to conquer Cader Idris. Whichever route you take they are all designated ‘hard/strenuous’ routes, and you should allow between five to six hours to get there and back
Machynlleth
Machynlleth railway station is on the Cambrian Line from Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth. Trains also depart from here for the Cambrian Coast Line to Pwllheli.

The Llanllwchaiarn Lollipop Walk starts and finishes at the Town Clock at the intersection of Broad, High and Severn

Starting from Brecon Cathedral and a residential part of town, the walk takes you to a superb vantagepoint, Pen y Crug, surmounted by the ramparts and ditches of an Iron Age hill-fort.
Rhayader
A busy, historic market town, Rhayader is named after 'Rhayadr Gwy', a Welsh name for a local waterfall on the Wye. The town is situated in the very heart of Mid Wales in the beautiful Upper Wye Valley sheltered by the Cambrian Mountains.

This walk is a continuation of the walk to Pen Cerrig-calch. The walk is approximately 8 miles and you need to allow at least 5.5hours if starting from the car park in Crickhowell.

This 2.5 circular mile walk starts in the centre of Newtown and largely circles around the western boundaries of Newtown. It will take you along the River Severn and has some road and off-road walking.
